The People:

The locals in Greece are incredibly warm and friendly. They engage in conversations with genuine interest and greet you with kindness. Having a baby who loves interacting with everyone provided us with numerous opportunities to connect and get to know the locals. Our daughter was just 10 months old when we visited, and she made countless friends during our time there.

Stroller Tips:

Don’t second-guess it — make sure to bring along a durable stroller with sturdy wheels for your travels. It can truly enhance your journey in a significant way. I personally experienced the immense convenience of having a reliable stroller while exploring different islands, even in a place like Santorini. Although there might be situations where you need to lift the stroller, choosing a lightweight model can make this task much easier. Additionally, it’s wise to keep a carrier in the stroller pocket in case you need to lift your baby. This way, you’ll be prepared for any situation that arises.

Parking Tips:

Almost at all the beaches you visit you will be able to find some free parking spaces, so you can save some money instead of parking in the paid areas.

Coffee Tips:

As an Indian I like coffee with Milk only so mention specifically that you need latte or cappuccino with extra milk :).

Money Tip:

Carry an adequate amount of cash with you, as there might be occasions where you can receive a discount or better pricing by paying with cash instead of using a card.

Shopping Tip:

If you want to do some shopping in Greece then Athens and Crete are best to do so, in all other islands we visited things are almost the same everywhere however the rates were two or three times as compared to Athens and Crete. Also, the brand showrooms were available only in Athens and Heraklion.

Food Tips:

During your time in Greece, be sure to indulge in these delectable dishes:

  • Greek Salad
  • Tzatziki paired with freshly baked homemade bread
  • Moussaka
  • Bugatsa
  • Greek Yogurt, readily available in local grocery stores
  • Feta cheese and an array of other cheese selections
  • Gyros
  • Taramasalata
  • An abundance of seafood choices.
